Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid rich tributes to Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose on his birth anniversary, describing him as one of the greatest icons of India's freedom struggle.

Speaking at a ceremony in New Delhi, PM Modi announced several new initiatives to preserve and promote Netaji's legacy, including the digitization of historical documents and the establishment of a new museum.

"Netaji's unwavering commitment to India's independence and his vision of a strong, united nation continue to inspire us," the Prime Minister said.

The government also announced that January 23 will be celebrated as 'Parakram Diwas' (Day of Valor) with greater prominence, with events planned across the country.

PM Modi highlighted Netaji's role in forming the Indian National Army and his famous call of 'Give me blood, and I shall give you freedom' that galvanized millions of Indians.

Several senior cabinet ministers and opposition leaders also paid tributes, with many calling for unity in honoring the freedom fighter's memory above political differences.

The Prime Minister concluded by urging young Indians to learn from Netaji's life of sacrifice and dedication to the nation.
